tickets for all

gold satin curtains
so fine
never see another ladys curtains
a lifetime of these changing ways ahead
defiant and momentous
our lady malcolm
pieces of honeycomb hair
jewel jazz shoe point peaking
under gabrielle chanel
she tumbled
backside down in roman red
arranged on turkish rug

i dont care if she looks beyond me.

like we have in undiscovered rooms
like equals dancing
perhaps for excited looks and thought
well i can see the people thinking
i can see the presses printing

no respected matron would
see past our drab and practice
grim traditions dictate to stay strangers
those rituals are waning
thank-you lady malcolm
for no stale formality
thank-you for this lavish dance
never dared before

where will be tonight asleep
under humble stairs
in privacy of mind
for this latest innovation
waited late in life
goodness is an ultra-modern notion
our limiting condition shrinking
existing soon to be extinct
crooked customs exposed to
the culture's developing conscience
promenade and drink
and at once at last dance encircled
skirted gold satin curtains

this mouse dystopia
