criminal thinking

(4)

crime and its control
but we remember
worker deaths december
shy of virtues
by the numbers
nothing changes ever
in the brickwork

vindictive lectures
we're better for rejecting them
dead broke
hands down
alone remote
in leaving snow
unbuttoned coat
she saved me from the blame
my trusted friend
caught in my mistake
beige and brown
soap and yarn
perfume imported
paris , france
amour

stealing eaton's jeans
silver city
in a million dollar galleria
mirror and a photo booth
best friend necklace
in our pockets
we were cunning
she was deadlocked
and like a wife
she stopped the knife
begged them
promised i was moral
little sister

outside after twisting
twirling in the sun melt
love-struck and dizzy
i rip the tags off
toss them in a trashcan
this symbol of my riches
our reward
expense of the machine
they won't miss it
these are better times

foreclosures in fat times
